The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club invites you to embark on a unique sporting adventure: our Winter Volunteer Abroad Program, running from December 2026 through February 2027. We are seeking current and former European female softball players to become foundational coaches in our mission to launch elite girls’ softball on the island of Bohol, Philippines.
Your Mission: Build the Foundation of a Dynasty
On Bohol, there is immense talent but a critical shortage of advanced female coaching, especially in the art of pitching. This is where you come in. As a volunteer coach, you will be the catalyst. You will directly shape our first generation of female players, ages 4-18, instilling the proper fundamentals that last a lifetime.
Your expertise in pitching mechanics—our program’s cornerstone—alongside hitting, fielding, throwing, and baserunning, will provide a level of instruction these young athletes have never accessed. This isn’t just about teaching a sport; it’s about forging athletes with the technical skill and competitive mindset to one day pursue athletics and academic scholarships. You will be building the bedrock of a future powerhouse, and your influence will echo for years to come.
A Fully Immersive Cultural & Sporting Experience
For a program fee of $499 for 14 days, your contribution is met with our deep commitment to your experience. This includes:
Comfortable Accommodation & Meals: Live and dine within our vibrant club community.
Training & Competition: Lead clinics and coach in games, wearing your official Bohol Coconuts uniform.
Cultural & Adventure Tours: Explore the wonders of Bohol, from the iconic Chocolate Hills and the adorable Philippine Tarsier to the pristine white sands of Panglao Island.
Club Events & Community Integration: Experience authentic Filipino hospitality at its finest.
You will be personally hosted by the club’s owners, Lerma and Merv Moore. Lerma, a respected local councilwoman, will be your guide to Boholano culture and community. Merv, an American baseball coach, will be your partner in coordinating the program’s sports curriculum. Staying with them offers an unparalleled, authentic immersion into island life.
