The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club believe in creating pathways for every player. While our recreational leagues focus on fun, fundamentals, and development at a comfortable pace, we also recognize and nurture exceptional talent.
That’s why we are proud to officially launch our invitation-only All-Star Baseball Program, running from August 1st through September 30th.
During these two months, our regular youth baseball programs (ages 4-12) will take a seasonal break, allowing us to concentrate resources and elite coaching on players identified for their high potential.
The Philosophy: Identifying and Challenging Future Stars
Coach Merv Moore, our Sports Director and Head Coach will personally direct the All-Star Program. His philosophy is clear:
“The key to building a championship culture is identifying kids with high upside and placing them into an accelerated training environment. We want to challenge those with elite talent to never stop growing.”
Program Overview: For Ages 4-12
The All-Star Baseball Program is by invitation only, extended to players whom Coach Merv believe possess the athleticism, work ethic, and potential to develop into true All-Stars.
This intensive two-month training block will focus on comprehensive skill development:
Advanced Hitting: Refining swing mechanics, plate discipline, and power generation.
Elite Fielding & Throwing: Position-specific infield and outfield drills focusing on quick reflexes, soft hands, and strong, accurate throws.
Specialized Pitching: Foundational mechanics, pitch control, and developing a pitching mindset.
Strategic Baserunning: Learning leads, jumps, steals, and smart basepath decisions.
Team Defense: Advanced defensive positioning, communication, and executing routine plays.
“Our goal,” says Coach Merv, “is for the Bohol Coconuts to be known as the club that develops elite infielders and outfielders—players who are not only standout hitters but also exceptional fielders.”
Senior League Competition: For Ages 13-18
While our younger elites train, our older players (ages 13-18) will continue their development through organized competition. The Coconuts Senior League will feature three teams battling it out every Saturday, with each team playing two games. This league is designed to simulate a competitive season, focusing on game strategy, mental toughness, and teamwork.

The August-September All-Star Baseball Program is a cornerstone of this vision. It ensures that our most dedicated and talented young athletes have the environment they need to flourish, competing daily with peers who share their drive and skill level.
