When we say the Bohol Coconuts are building a self-sustaining ecosystem, we mean it extends far beyond the baseball diamond. To develop elite athletes, you have to support and elevate the community that raises them. That is the driving force behind our newly launched Animal Husbandry and Livelihood Programs.
Currently, the club has partnered with six local residents who are actively raising 7 pigs and 123 chickens. The economic model is designed to be simple, sustainable, and mutually beneficial:
The Setup: The Bohol Coconuts provide the baby pigs and chicks to our local partners at absolutely no upfront cost.
The Process: The local partners take on the daily responsibility of housing, feeding, and raising the livestock.
The Payout: Once the animals are fully grown, the partners have two options: they can sell the livestock back to the club at a 50% discount, or they can sell the animals on the open market and split the revenue 50/50 with the club.

“This program benefits both the club and families of club members,” smiled Lerma Moore, Coconuts General Manager. “This is just one of the ways the Coconuts Club will help local residents increase their household income.”
The Livelihood Project: From Backyard Gardens to the Soup Kitchen
The vision for community empowerment does not stop at livestock. To complement the

Animal Husbandry program, the club has also rolled out an agricultural Livelihood Project.
Through this initiative, the club provides seeds and plant seedlings to local residents to cultivate in their own backyard gardens and container farms. Once harvested, these fresh, locally grown vegetables are sold back to the Coconuts’ club soup kitchen at a discounted rate.
This creates a perfect, closed-loop system: our youth athletes are fed highly nutritious meals, the club saves on food costs, and local families generate a new, reliable stream of income without having to leave their homes.
What’s Next?
Right now, six families are thriving under this model, but the local demand to join the initiative is incredibly high. The club plans to rapidly expand the program to include more local residents as soon as additional sponsors are secured.
When you invest in the Bohol Coconuts, you aren’t just building a baseball academy—you are fueling the economic engine of an entire community.
