About the Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club
Growing the Game Under the Philippine Sun

The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club is more than a sports organization—it’s a dream realized, a community built, and a pipeline for the next generation of Filipino baseball and softball talent. Founded by American coach Marvin “Merv” Moore and his wife, Lerma, the Coconuts represent a lifelong commitment to player development, cultural exchange, and the belief that the diamond is a classroom for life.

Our Story: From a Memoir to a Mission

The seed for the Bohol Coconuts was planted across decades and continents, chronicled in Marvin Moore’s memoir, World Baseball Guy. After coaching in Switzerland, Brunei, Bhutan, and Nepal, Merv envisioned a place where he could finally build a program his way—rooted in fundamental excellence, integrity, and deep respect for the athlete’s journey.

Merv chose Bohol, an island of stunning natural beauty and resilient, welcoming people, as the perfect home. The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club was officially founded to create a sustainable, world-class environment for youth and adult players to learn, compete, and grow.

Our Mission

To develop elite baseball and softball athletes in the Philippines through professional coaching, modern training facilities, and competitive international exposure, while fostering life skills, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love for the game.

Our Vision

To become the premier baseball and softball development academy in Southeast Asia, recognized for producing collegiate, national team, and professional prospects, and for serving as a vibrant community hub that promotes health, discipline, and teamwork.
