Building a Legacy from the Dirt Up.
“We didn’t start the Bohol Coconuts to run a standard charity. Charities eventually run out of money. We came to build a self-sustaining ecosystem.” – Merv & Lerma Moore
The Reality on the Ground
When we first evaluated the youth sports landscape in the Philippine provinces, we saw two things with absolute clarity: an incredible, undeniable reservoir of raw athletic talent, and a devastating lack of basic resources. We saw kids grinding on rocky fields barefoot, and we realized quickly that for many of them, a guaranteed daily meal was a luxury.
We knew we had to intervene, but we refused to build a fragile system that relied on constant fundraising and handouts. To make a permanent, generational impact in Bohol, we had to build an economic engine.
The Closed-Loop Ecosystem
The Coconuts Performance Center will be the result of that vision. By engineering a 2,500 square meter compound that houses an elite baseball infield, batting cages, a weight room, and a soup kitchen alongside a premium, 7-room eco-lodge Bed & Breakfast, we created a system that funds itself.
The B&B and the “Building the Coconuts” YouTube reality docuseries generate the revenue.
The revenue funds the daily soup kitchen, sports equipment and uniforms, the academic tutors and contests, social activities, club events, and much more!.
Our strict “No Pass, No Play” rule keeps the athletes in the classroom.
We are utilizing sports tourism and real estate to permanently keep local kids off the streets, fed, and focused on their sports and academic futures.
Why The Founders Club Exists
To build this massive engine, we needed initial capital. But we didn’t want anonymous donors dropping money into a void. We wanted real partners. We wanted the heavy hitters from our Texas network and beyond to have a tangible, physical stake in what we are building.
The Founders Club was created to reward the ground-floor believers. When you put your family’s name on a B&B suite, or hang your company’s banner over a hitting tunnel, you aren’t just making a donation. You are acquiring a cash-flowing real estate asset, securing global marketing placement on our docuseries, and cementing a permanent legacy on this island.
The Leadership
Coach Merv | Co-Founder & Director of Baseball Operations
Bringing Texas grit and business strategy to the Philippine province. Coach Merv will oversee the facility’s construction, the docuseries production, the investor relations, and the elite player development program. His mission is to turn the Coconuts into the premier baseball academy in Southeast Asia, giving local kids a legitimate pipeline to college scholarships.
Lerma | Co-Founder & Director of Community Impact
The heart, the operational engine, and the bridge to the Bohol community. As a local Filipina, Lerma navigates the complex local logistics, oversees the daily operations of the soup kitchen, and manages the B&B hospitality staff. She ensures that the compound operates with deep respect for the local culture and that every single child who walks through the gates is fed, safe, and supported.
Welcome to the inner circle. Let’s get to work.
