A Unique Opportunity to Manage Your Own Baseball Club

Have you ever dreamed of running your own baseball franchise? Of being the architect of a player development system, scouting talent, building a team culture, and watching raw, young athletes evolve into confident, skilled prospects with real professional potential?

For most, this is a fantasy reserved for simulated video games or million-dollar investments. But what if you could make it a reality for less than the price of a used car?

Welcome to a groundbreaking opportunity with the Bohol Coconuts Baseball Club Franchise System—a chance for passionate baseball minds, especially former coaches and players, to own and operate an elite youth baseball academy on the beautiful island of Bohol, Philippines.

The Seed of a Vision: A Coach is Born
For Bohol Coconuts founder and Head Coach Marvin “Merv” Moore, the love for player development started not in a grand stadium, but in a local little league. At just 15 years old, his neighbor, Eugene “Curly” Beatty, handed him the reins to a group of 9 and 10-year-olds.

“I was in charge of everything—hitting, pitching, team defense,” Coach Merv recalls. “Even at that age, I was hooked. There’s no greater feeling than watching a kid’s skills and confidence grow week after week. But I always hated how short the youth season was. It felt like we were just getting started when it ended.”

That early frustration led him to fall in love with the European sports club model during his tenure developing national programs in Switzerland.

“There, we trained players from March to September. That consistent, long-term development cycle is transformative. That’s the model I’m bringing to the Philippines.”

Your Franchise, Your Farm System

On February 1, 2026, Coach Merv will launch the flagship Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club in Cambanac. But his vision is bigger than one club. He’s building a league—an ecosystem—and he needs like-minded franchise owners to make it thrive.

For a one-time franchise fee of $1,500 (with a $500 reservation fee to secure your charter territory), you or your ownership group will launch a club with teams across seven age divisions:

★ Rookie (Age 4-5)
★ Single A (Age 6-7)
★ Double A (Age 8-9)
★ Triple A (Age 10-11)
★ Juniors (Age 12-13)
★ Seniors (Age 14-18)
★ Men’s (Age 16-24)

As a baseball academy owner, you have full autonomy. You’re the General Manager of your own baseball farm system. You’ll handle recruitment, community engagement, and daily operations. You can be as hands-on as you want—run practices yourself, or hire local coaches (or even hire Coach Merv for training clinics). The model is flexible.

“This isn’t a quick flip; it’s a long-term project,” Coach Merv explains. “I’m looking for academy owners who are confident in their ability to develop elite teenage prospects within 4 to 8 years. We’re building a pipeline.

“The goal is to have our top 16-19 year-olds earn spots on Philippine collegiate teams, compete for the Philippines National Baseball Team, and ultimately sign professional minor league contracts with MLB and NPB organizations.”

More Than Sports: Building Men and Community

At its heart, this is about development that goes beyond the field. “What I love most,” says Coach Merv, “is taking unconfident boys and turning them into confident young men who love to compete against the best.”

The Coconuts’ flagship model integrates deeply with the community, offering social activities and discounted food services—a hit in Filipino culture where family and community are central. While franchise owners are free to adopt their own business model, Coach Merv believes in the power of this holistic approach.

“You don’t have to relocate. You can manage remotely and visit several times a year,” he notes. “But I think once owners see the profound positive impact a club can have—how a community will adore you for your contributions beyond the scoreboard—they’ll want to be a part of it in person.”

A League of Your Own: The Ultimate Challenge
This is your chance to build a legacy and test your skills against a passionate competitor. “I need rivals,” Coach Merv states frankly. “My top players can’t elevate their game unless there are other elite players on the island pushing them.

“I want academy owners who see this as the ultimate challenge: build your farm system, develop your prospects, and let’s see who builds the better team. Let’s create an ultra-competitive Men’s League by 2033 that becomes a must-see circuit for scouts.”

The infrastructure supports year-round development. With covered batting cages, training continues uninterrupted even during the rainy season.

“The Filipino athlete has incredible potential,” Coach Merv asserts. “With proper, consistent training, they can absolutely compete with their counterparts in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.”

A Unique Bonus: Academies can also utilize strategies like the Coconuts’ innovative Volunteer Abroad Program, which brings American, European, Japanese, Canadian, and Australian female softball players to the island for 2-4 weeks to teach youth girls, providing world-class fundamentals training at no extra cost.

The Call to the Baseball-Obsessed

This is a unique call to action for the American baseball lifer—the former player who still studies swing mechanics, the retired coach who misses the grind, the fan who has always believed they could run a team.

For a low investment, you gain the title you’ve dreamed of: Owner and General Manager. You get the thrill of building a roster from the ground up, the satisfaction of long-term player development, and the potential pride of seeing a player you signed take the field professionally.

“This is for someone who loves the game too much to just watch it,” says Coach Merv. “This is for someone who wants to get their hands back in the dirt, to shape the future of the sport, and to do it in a place where their passion can change lives.”

The field is waiting. Your franchise is calling.
