The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club is hitting the road this March to find the next generation of baseball and softball talent across Baclayon!
In our largest talent search ever, Head Coach Merv Moore will lead open tryouts in all 17 barangays of the municipality, giving every young athlete the chance to join our growing player development system.
Baseball Tryouts: March 2–13, 2026
Open to all boys ages 4–15, these sessions will evaluate fundamental skills through a series of drills:
- Running & Agility
- Throwing Accuracy & Arm Strength
- Fielding Technique
- Hitting Fundamentals
No prior baseball experience is required—only a willingness to learn and play.
Player Selection & Team Placement
Following the tryouts, selected players will be invited into the Coconuts’ tiered development system:
First Division: Top performers will train with our most advanced teams.
Second & Third Divisions: Developing players will be placed in age-appropriate teams focused on skill-building and game experience.
“My goal is to build a baseball community of over 600 youth players across 17 affiliate clubs,” says Coach Merv.
“This tour is about giving kids in Baclayon a chance to be part of something special—to learn the game, grow as an athlete, and become part of our Coconuts family.”
The same skill evaluation and team placement structure will apply, ensuring every athlete finds their fit in our growing softball program.
