Free Summer Baseball, Softball Camp Returns to Baclayon

Summer heat means baseball and softball season is here again. The Bohol Coconuts are gearing up for their inaugural Summer Baseball & Softball Camp, set to take place from April 6 to 11 in Baclayon, and it’s completely free for all young athletes.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 18 and will run two daily sessions. The morning session, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, will focus on baseball fundamentals. An afternoon session dedicated to softball will follow, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

Organizers emphasize that no prior experience is needed. The program is designed to introduce the sports to new players while sharpening the skills of those who have played before. All equipment, including gloves, bats, and balls, will be provided free of charge to every participant.

“This camp is offered 100% free to every child. We remove the financial barrier so that talent and heart are the only things that matter,” Coconuts general manager Lerma Moore said, highlighting her commitment to youth development.

The week-long camp serves as a training ground for the upcoming Summer Baseball & Softball League, which will begin shortly after, running from April 17 to May 17. Top performers during the summer league will earn invitations to join the prestigious Coconuts All-Star Program.

Parents and guardians interested in registering their child must ensure a signed waiver is submitted for their child to participate.

Sponsors Wanted for Camp T-Shirts

The success of the free camp relies on community support. Several sponsorship packages are available for local businesses and individuals who want to help.

A key opportunity is the Camp Title Sponsor position. The title sponsor will have their business name or logo featured prominently on the front of all 350 camp t-shirts worn by campers, coaches, and staff. These shirts often become “walking billboards,” worn by kids around the community for years to come.

Other sponsorship levels, including placement on the shirt sleeves or back, are also available. For a full list of sponsorship packages and benefits, visit the official Bohol Coconuts page: 2026 Summer Baseball & Softball Camp Sponsorship Packages.

For more information on how to register a child or become a sponsor, interested parties are encouraged to contact Lerma at 915-846-0937.
