The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club invites you to step off the diamond and onto the pristine shores of Bohol, Philippines, for a summer you’ll never forget. Our 2026 Volunteer Abroad Program is your chance to leave a lasting legacy, inspire the next generation, and grow as both an athlete and a global citizen.
Your Mission: Empower Through Sport
For two transformative weeks in June, July, or August 2026, you will become a cornerstone of our club’s development. The core objective of this program is simple yet profound: to provide our youth Filipino girl softball players (ages 4-18) with the unparalleled opportunity to learn fundamentals directly from experienced players who have competed at the collegiate level in the United States.
As a volunteer coach, you will lead clinics and daily training sessions, imparting your expertise in pitching, hitting, fielding, throwing, and baserunning. This is more than just teaching skills; it’s about building confidence, fostering a love for the game, and demonstrating the power of sportsmanship and dedication. Your influence will ignite dreams and show our girls that with hard work, anything is possible.
A Home Away From Home with the Moore Family
Your immersion into Bohol life will be guided and hosted by the heart of our club: owners Lerma and Merv Moore. Lerma, a respected local councilwoman, will welcome you with the renowned Filipino hospitality, offering you an authentic, behind-the-scenes connection to the community and culture. Her husband, Merv, an American baseball coach, understands your athletic journey and will be your on-island point of contact, ensuring a seamless blend of effective softball instruction and cultural immersion. You won’t be a tourist; you’ll be family.
