BOHOL, PHILIPPINES – December 2, 2025 – The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club, a pioneering community sports and social enterprise, today announced it is seeking a strategic private equity partnership to catalyze a historic national expansion. The proposed deal centers on a significant capital infusion and the creation of a new, jointly-owned for-profit entity designed to replicate the club’s successful model across the archipelago, with the ultimate goal of cultivating over one million members and establishing the Philippines as a premier talent pipeline for international baseball.

Founded on a unique blend of athletic excellence, community service, and sustainable business, the Bohol Coconuts will transform the sports landscape on Bohol Island. The club addresses critical gaps in youth development, adult recreation, and food security through its integrated offerings: professional baseball/softball training, a popular Volunteer Abroad program, a member-discount soup kitchen, and a mini food store.

“Our dream has always been bigger than one island,” said Marvin “Merv” Moore, Sports Director and Head Coach. “We have a model that will develops skilled players—the kind who can reach collegiate leagues and professional minor leagues—while strengthening the community that supports them. Now, we are ready to partner with visionary investors to scale this impact to a national level and give millions of Filipino youth a pathway to the sport they love.”

Inspired by innovative private equity collaborations in global sports, the club proposes a partnership to form “Bohol Coconuts Brands & Development LLC.” This entity would oversee the aggressive franchising of the Bohol Coconuts concept, managing expansion, centralizing revenue operations, and scaling the club’s community programs.

The club seeks an initial capital infusion of $72,000 for a 40% equity stake in the new venture, which would fund the construction of its flagship high-performance center in Bohol and launch the national franchise rollout. The founding team, leveraging deep local expertise and political connections, would retain majority ownership and operational leadership, ensuring the club’s mission-centric culture remains intact.

Central to this expansion is an unwavering commitment to player development. The Bohol Coconuts model, led by Coach Moore’s 30+ years of international experience developing national teams, is specifically engineered to identify and nurture elite talent.

“The goal is to create a visible, sustainable pathway from local barangay leagues to international scout radars,” Moore explained. “By establishing standardized coaching, competition, and showcase events across a national network of clubs, we will create the ecosystem necessary to produce the Philippines’ next generation of minor league prospects and national team stars.”

The expansion plan includes forming the Bohol Youth Sports Association (BYSA) and subsequent regional leagues, creating structured competition that is essential for player growth and visibility.

A Million-Member Community: More Than Just Sports

This growth initiative is rooted in the club’s foundational belief that sports are a powerful vehicle for holistic community development. Each new franchise will incorporate the club’s signature social services: affordable membership, discounted nutritious meals at club soup kitchens, and staple foods at below-market prices in club stores.

“We are not just building baseball diamonds; we are building community hubs,” said Lerma Moore, General Manager and Cambanac Councilwoman. “Our partnership will prove that a business can be both profoundly profitable and profoundly positive. We envision a network of clubs that are the heart of their towns—places where families gather, children learn discipline and teamwork, and communities become stronger and healthier.”

The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club is now actively engaging with private equity firms and impact investors who share its vision of combining significant financial returns with transformative social impact. The roadmap includes:

Phase 1 (0-3 years): Secure partnership; construct flagship Bohol Coconuts Center; franchise 8-10 clubs across Bohol and Cebu.

Phase 2 (3-7 years): Expand franchise network to Luzon and Mindanao; launch national youth championships and scout showcases.

Phase 3 (7-10 years): Achieve over one million members nationwide; establish the Philippines as a recognized source of baseball talent for international leagues.

“This is a historic opportunity to be part of something transformative,” the founders stated jointly. “We are inviting a partner to join us in writing a new chapter for Philippine sports—one that creates lasting legacy, discovers future stars, and uplifts communities one club at a time.”
