BOHOL, Philippines – The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club is turning the camera inward, transforming its ambitious rise from a dream into a daily documentary experience for the world to witness.

The flagship YouTube series, “Building the Coconuts,” will premier on March 1st and will offer viewers a raw, unfiltered chronicle of building an elite baseball and softball programs from the ground up on a tropical island paradise.

The series will release three 30-minute episodes each week (every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), offering an unprecedented, all-access pass to the relentless work, passion, and community spirit that defines the Coconuts.

An Unprecedented Look Inside the Dream

“Building the Coconuts” will embed cameras into the daily fabric of the club’s operations. From dawn until dusk, cameras will follow founders Merv and Lerma, capturing the full spectrum of their journey.

Viewers can expect to be in the room for office meetings where franchise strategies and community programs are born. They’ll stand on the field during practice sessions, and experience the joy of youth members hitting their first home run.

The content will extend beyond baseball diamonds. Episodes will feature the club’s innovative Volunteer Abroad Program, highlighting international coaches as they share their expertise and immerse themselves in Filipino culture.

Audiences will see the operation of the club’s socially-conscious soup kitchen and food store, academic contests for youth members, and the vibrant social activities that make the Coconuts a holistic community hub.

Stepping Into the Spotlight: Coach Merv’s Personal Journey

Coach Merv Moore leads a Youth Camp in Phobjikha Valley in the Kingdom of Bhutan in 2023.

A compelling personal narrative will underscore the series. Coach Merv Moore, an accomplished international coach with decades of experience developing national teams, is by nature an ultra-private individual who has always preferred to operate behind the scenes.

In late January 2026, upon his return to Bohol, he will intentionally abandon that comfort zone, allowing cameras to document his every move in service of the club’s larger story.

A Content Engine Powered by the Community

“Building the Coconuts” is just the cornerstone of a vast media ecosystem. The club is launching Tropical Paradise Media, a volunteer-run content division operated by a dedicated 12-member teenage social media team. This team will be the engine of the Coconuts’ daily digital presence, filming over 50 hours of authentic club content every day.

This means the story continues between YouTube episodes. Followers on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Reels will receive a constant stream of immersive content: quick clips of a coach’s pep talk, a youth member’s daily life at school and at home, behind-the-scenes prep for a community fair, or the triumphant celebration after a tournament win.

The strategy ensures the global audience doesn’t just watch our weekly episodes—they become part of the day-to-day heartbeat of the club.

Becoming a Leading Content Creator in Sports and Community

The Bohol Coconuts are not just building a sports club; they are positioning themselves as a leading content creator in the space of athletic development and community transformation. By documenting everything—the strategic, the athletic, the academic, and the personal—they are creating a transparent, inspiring, and engaging narrative that transcends typical sports coverage.

This media strategy serves a dual purpose: it showcases the unique value of the Coconuts to a global audience, attracting members, volunteers, and supporters, while simultaneously providing invaluable media and technology skills to its youth members.

Tune in on March 1, 2026, for the premiere of “Building the Coconuts” on YouTube. Subscribe and follow across all social platforms to join the journey and witness how a dream, backed by relentless effort and a powerful story, becomes a reality.
