Imagine a place where the crack of a baseball bat meets the quiet focus of a science lab. Where the cheer of the crowd echoes alongside the excitement of discovering Bohol’s natural wonders. This is the Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club—a community hub dedicated to building not just athletes, but scholars and innovators.

While our premier sports training develops discipline and teamwork, our true mission is holistic youth development. We provide the tools, opportunities, and guidance for club members to excel academically and creatively, building impressive portfolios that pave the way for academic scholarships to top colleges and universities across the Philippines.

Academic Contests: Where Ideas Compete and Talents Shine

Six times a year, the focus shifts from the field to the forum. Our curated Academic Contests are designed to uncover and celebrate every type of intelligence, giving members a platform to showcase their unique strengths.

Essay & Poetry Contests: These events harness the power of words, encouraging youth to articulate their perspectives, stories, and dreams with clarity and creativity.

Science Project Fair: Budding inventors and researchers get their moment. This hands-on contest challenges participants to ask questions, hypothesize, and demonstrate scientific principles, fostering a love for inquiry and problem-solving.

Arts Competition: From painting and drawing to digital design, this contest celebrates visual expression and artistic skill, allowing creativity to flow beyond the canvas.

Bridge Building Challenge: A test of physics, engineering, and ingenuity. Using specified materials, participants design and construct the strongest or most efficient bridge, learning applied mathematics and structural engineering basics.

Video Production Festival: For the modern storyteller. This contest teaches narrative planning, filming, and editing, empowering youth to create compelling short films or documentaries on topics they care about.

These contests are more than just competitions; they are resume-building experiences that teach critical thinking, project management, and presentation skills valued by universities.

Educational Field Trips: Classroom Without Walls

Learning leaps off the page during our Educational Field Trips. Bohol’s rich ecological and cultural landscape becomes a dynamic classroom, fostering a deep sense of place and wonder.

Technology Club (Ages 13-18): Deeper dives into high-impact fields. Members engage with Artificial Intelligence—learning how machine learning algorithms work. They build and program advanced Robotics projects. They explore 3D modeling, web development, and app creation, gaining tangible skills that position them at the forefront of innovation.

A Stage for Every Star: Talent Shows & Scholar Development

Complementing our six academic contests are six annual talent shows, ensuring every child has a moment in the spotlight. Whether it’s singing, dance, magic, instrumentals, or comedy, we celebrate the diverse performing arts talents within our community.

This holistic approach—sports, academics, tech, and arts—is intentional. Cambanac Councilwoman and Bohol Coconuts General Manager Lerma Moore states, “Our goal is to challenge every child to be the best possible version of themselves. That means providing a stage for their academic and artistic talents with the same energy and pride we devote to our athletic programs.

“We are building a pathway to opportunity. By showcasing their well-rounded accomplishments—from science fair medals to pitching stats—our youth will build compelling stories for scholarship committees.”

The Bohol Coconuts membership is an investment in a child’s complete future. It’s a community that provides the coaching, the resources, the adventures, and the unwavering belief that every child has the potential for greatness.
