Students at Montana Elementary School in Baclayon, Bohol, enjoyed a day of fun, friendship, and learning during their recent Scout Day celebration.

The event, held on the school grounds, brought together young Scouts for an afternoon focused on community, nutrition, and healthy competition.

The highlight of the day was a nutritional feeding event, where all participating children received a healthy meal. Following the meal, Scouts took part in a series of engaging games and activities, with prizes awarded to winners, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and joyful participation.

A Legacy of Building Character: Scouting in the Philippines

The event also served as a reminder of the rich history of the Scouting movement in the country.

Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP): Established in 1923, the BSP is one of the oldest national Scout organizations in Asia. It has played a vital role for decades in molding Filipino youth into disciplined, responsible, and community-oriented citizens through outdoor activities, skill-building, and the core values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP): Founded in 1940, the GSP has empowered generations of young Filipino women. Its mission focuses on developing girls and young women into proactive leaders of character, equipped with life skills and a deep sense of social responsibility and service to God, country, and humanity.

Events like Scout Day at Montana Elementary continue this proud tradition, proving that the spirit of Scouting remains a powerful force in shaping the youth of Bohol and building a stronger, more united community.
