Coconuts Scout Practice Fields, Eye Local Partnerships

The Bohol Coconuts are moving closer to securing a permanent home, identifying two potential sites for a dedicated practice field.

Club General Manager Lerma Moore confirmed the organization is evaluating locations in Datag and Cambanac for a field that would serve their development programs. The final decision, however, hinges on an agreement with landowners.

“It depends on the owner of the land,” said Moore. “We’re looking to rent a space for a minimum of two years to establish our training base.”

Beyond a practice field, the Coconuts are also building bridges with the local community. Moore, who also serves on the Cambanac Barangay Council, revealed that the club is in active discussions to form partnerships with area schools. This initiative aims to provide younger athletes with immediate access to quality grounds.

“We want to partner with schools whose athletic grounds are perfect for our Rookie and Single-A kids,” Moore explained. “It’s about investing in our youth and utilizing existing community resources.”

The dual approach—securing a long-term private field while collaborating with local institutions—highlights the Coconuts’ commitment to building a sustainable pipeline of homegrown talent. A final decision on the practice field site is expected in the coming weeks.
