Introducing the Coconuts Meals-on-Wheels Program

At the Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club, our mission has always been about more than sports—it’s about building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community.

That’s why we’re proud to launch our newest initiative: the Coconuts Meals-on-Wheels Program, designed to ensure that our senior citizen members receive nutritious meals and meaningful social engagement right in the comfort of their homes.

Affordable Nourishment, Delivered with Care

Starting this March 2026, senior club members (age 60 and above) can enjoy delicious, freshly prepared meals delivered directly to their doorstep at a greatly reduced cost:

  • Lunch: ₱10
  • Dinner: ₱10

Each meal is carefully crafted in our club kitchen under the guidance of our head cook, Norma Altiche, and features locally sourced, nourishing ingredients. Meals will include Filipino favorites such as:

  • Chicken Arroz Caldo
  • Fish Tinola
  • Ginisang Gulay with Egg
  • Monggo with Malunggay
  • Soft-cooked Rice and Seasonal Fruits

More Than a Meal—A Commitment to Care

General Manager Lerma Moore, who also serves as a Cambanac Barangay Councilor, has been a driving force behind this program. She explains:

“Our elders are the foundation of our community—they are our inang and amang, our living history. With this program, we’re not just delivering food; we’re delivering care, connection, and peace of mind.

“I’ve seen firsthand how a simple daily meal can change a senior’s life. It’s about dignity. It’s about knowing that someone is looking out for you. That’s what the Coconuts stand for—looking out for each other.

“We want our senior members to remain active in our community, whether that’s joining our light exercise activities, attending our weekly kwentuhan sessions, or simply knowing they are remembered and valued. This program ensures they stay nourished in body and spirit.”

How the Program Works

Eligibility: Open to all registered Bohol Coconuts club members aged 60 and above.

Ordering: Meals can be ordered daily or weekly through a dedicated hotline or via a family member’s mobile registration.

Delivery: Meals are delivered by trusted club volunteers between 11:00 AM–12:00 PM for lunch and 5:00–6:00 PM for dinner.

Safety: All delivery personnel undergo basic training and follow health and safety protocols.

A Doorway to Community

Beyond nourishment, the Meals-on-Wheels program is designed to combat social isolation. Each delivery includes a brief wellness check and an invitation to upcoming club-led senior activities, such as:

  • Gentle chair exercises and walking groups
  • Monthly harana and karaoke socials
  • Bible study and storytelling sessions
  • Intergenerational craft and gardening projects
