The Bohol Coconuts Baseball & Softball Club is proud to unveil its most ambitious community initiative to date: the launch of affiliate clubs in all 17 barangays of the Municipality of Baclayon.

This groundbreaking project, set to begin during the summer school break in April, aims to bring organized baseball and softball to hundreds of young athletes across the municipality.

A League for Every Child: Three Age Divisions

Each affiliate club will field five youth teams, creating a complete developmental pathway for children ages 4 to 13:

  • Rookie League – Ages 4–5
  • Single A – Ages 6–7
  • Double A – Ages 8–9
  • Triple A – Ages 10-11
  • Juniors – Ages 12-13

This tiered structure ensures that every child can learn and compete at a level suited to their age and skill, fostering a love for the game from their earliest years.

Summer League Excitement
Starting this April, the Bohol Coconuts Summer League will bring friendly competition and community camaraderie to barangays across Baclayon. Players will receive team uniforms—t-shirts and caps—proudly sponsored by local businesses, whose support will be recognized through uniform advertising.

Training the “Coconuts Way”
Leading the expansion is Coach Merv Moore, the club’s Sports Director and Head Baseball Coach. The American skipper will personally train affiliate coach trainees in the “Coconuts Way”—a proven methodology focused on fundamentals, sportsmanship, and player safety.

Additionally, Coach Merv will conduct area clinics in each barangay to identify and nurture standout talent. The most promising players from these clinics will be invited to join the exclusive All-Star Baseball Program, where they will receive advanced training under Coach Merv’s direct guidance.

Partnership for Growth

The Bohol Coconuts will enter into formal partnership agreements with each affiliate club, providing:

  • Complete baseball equipment packages
  • Operational guidance and coaching resources
  • Opportunities for affiliate clubs to earn revenue through local membership and community activities

This sustainable model empowers each barangay club to grow independently while remaining connected to the Coconuts network.

“We believe each barangay club can attract between 40 and 70 members,” said Lerma Moore, General Manager of the Bohol Coconuts.

“That means we could see 600 to 1,000 young athletes participating across Baclayon by the end of 2026. This isn’t just about baseball—it’s about building healthier, more connected communities.”

Join Us This Summer

Together, we’re not just playing ball—we’re building futures!
