This year’s calendar integrates five new robotics and technology competitions alongside established creative challenges, all designed to be accessible with low-cost or recycled materials. The schedule includes:
March 21, 2026: Cardboard Chair Challenge
Design and build a functional, weight-bearing chair using only cardboard, glue, and tape. Entries will be stress-tested with standardized weights. Focus: Structural engineering and sustainable design.

April 18, 2026: Elastic-Launched Gliders Design Contest
Construct gliders from balsa wood, paper, and elastic bands to achieve maximum flight duration and precision landing. Focus: Aerodynamics and physics principles.
May 16, 2026: Cardboard Cruise Ship Contest
Create detailed, floating scale models of cruise ships using cardboard and eco-friendly sealants. Judged on buoyancy, design creativity, and functional details (e.g., movable parts). Focus: Marine engineering and environmental awareness.
June 20, 2026: Art Contest
Submit original artwork (drawings, paintings, or digital art) celebrating Bohol’s culture, nature, or sports. All materials permitted; BYO supplies. Focus: Cultural expression and visual storytelling.
July 18, 2026: Poetry & Essay Contest

August 15, 2026: Junkbot Challenge
Build simple moving robots using provided scrap materials (cardboard tubes, bottle caps, DC motors, batteries) and basic tools. Robots must navigate a mini-obstacle course. Focus: Introductory mechanics and repurposing waste. Materials fee: ₱20 per participant.
September 19, 2026: Solar Sprint
Design and race miniature solar-powered vehicles using club-provided cells and recycled chassis materials. Vehicles must complete a track under direct sunlight. Focus: Renewable energy applications. Materials fee: ₱30 per participant.

October 17, 2026: Community Heroes Board Game Design Contest
Create an original board game celebrating local community heroes and Bohol’s cultural heritage. Using cardboard, art supplies, and everyday objects as game pieces, participants will design game boards, rules, and objectives that promote positive values. Judged on creativity, playability, and cultural significance. Focus: Game design, storytelling, and community appreciation. Materials fee: ₱15 per participant.
November 21, 2026: Recycled Tech Sculpture
Sculpt interactive art using e-waste (old wires, circuit boards, LEDs) combined with natural/recycled materials. Must include one light or motion element powered by a 9V battery (provided). Focus: E-waste innovation and aesthetics. Materials fee: ₱15 per participant.
December 19, 2026: Rube Goldberg Machine Challenge
Build a creative chain-reaction machine that completes a simple task through at least 5 sequential steps. Using everyday items and recycled materials, participants will design machines that demonstrate physics principles while solving practical problems. Judged on reliability, creativity, and educational value. Focus: Physics, engineering design, and creative problem-solving. Materials fee: ₱20 per participant.
